First Phase: Patina Restoration
The patina process will first involve building a 12′ x 12′ x 12′ framed sandblasting enclosure. This will be made with 2″ x 4″ x 12′ studs and 4 mil clear plastic. This will be surrounded by an orange security fence.
The second day would be for the actual sandblasting using a gas powered compressor, special protective gear, and air filtration.
The third day would be for clean up and wire brushing the bronze to enhance the sheen of the metal before applying the patina.
Day Four & Five
We would need two days to do the patina. I do many patinas but for this I’m bringing over a professional from the Bay Area and that will include his fee plus round trip airfare. Patina work for a color of this complexity is a multi stage process culminating with a hot application of carnuba wax. A cold application of wax once a year is recommended as a minimum maintenance.
Day Six Clean up and break down of the security barrier.
Three additional informational bronze plaques will be created which will include text and photos depicting Gandhi’s story and message of Peace
Two side plaques with two inset photos each : 18.5” H x 34” W End plaque with one inset photo : 18.5” H x 24.5” W Includes shipping, handling and installation
Our Goal for Phase One is $20,000.00
